Calvert Diversity Report 2017: Examining the Cracks in the Ceiling
It is a pleasure to share the fourth edition of Calvert’s Diversity Report, which continues Calvert’s examination of the diversity practices of the Standard & Poor’s 100 Index (S&P 100) and for the first time extends the analysis to the S&P 250. The ongoing development in corporations’ understanding of diversity practices, as well as a growing recognition that a diverse leadership team can have a positive impact on company performance, is evident in this year’s results.
At Calvert, we believe that a company’s diversity practices represent material information that investors can and should consider when conducting investment research and making portfolio decisions. Empirical research shows a correlation between an inclusive work environment and financial performance, and we all understand the benefits of a diverse and inclusive society to the quality of any community.
